I sat down with Tomy Talent. One of the most brilliant sales guys I know; and an AI systems architect. He was recruited by Alex Hormozi’s team, has coached over 200 reps, and has been behind the scenes with some of the biggest names in the industry (like Cole Gordon, 7th Level).

We discussed why the “1950s mindset” of doing one job forever is dead, and how to use AI to clone your decision-making so you can scale without burning out.

Q: A lot of people are afraid AI is going to replace them. How do you view it?

Tomy: The question isn’t “Will AI replace me?”

The question is, “Do I want to do more with less work?”

I view AI in two buckets:

  • Removal (getting rid of the hard, annoying admin work).
  • Enhancement (amplifying the human skillset).

If you are a closer or a business owner, AI is a bolt-on. It enhances your ability to process data, write copy, or prep for calls.

But if you refuse to use it, you will be overwhelmed by the people who do.

You can do 10 units of work a day.

I can use AI and do 40 units.

Who is the market going to reward?
The guy doing 4x the volume with higher precision.

Q: You’ve talked about how business owners bottle-neck themselves because they can’t clone their own brains. Is there a fix for that?

Tomy: There is a concept Alex Hormozi talked about years ago called the “Genie with 1,000 Hands.”

If you are the smartest person in your business, you have to order everyone around. You only have two hands.

But imagine you could clone your decision-making.

Imagine you could take the mental models of Hormozi, Charlie Munger, and Ray Dalio, plug them into a system, and have that system execute tasks for you.

That is the Genie.

You don’t need to learn every skill from scratch anymore. You can “plug in” to a system that already has the expertise.

If I can plug into a system that generates $50k/month, I don’t need to spend 5 years learning how to build it. I just need to learn how to operate the machine.

Q: Most people track show rates and close rates. Is that enough?

Tomy: That’s just the classic sales manager stuff. You need it, but it’s basic.

I prefer to focus on Psychographic Profiling.

Think about it like this:

If you take a sales call in a chaotic environment, you need a very high level of skill to navigate that chaos and get a close.

High Chaos = High Skill required.

But if I can use data to reduce the chaos—if I know exactly who the prospect is, what their likely objections are, and what their psychological triggers are before the call—I don’t need to be a wizard.

I can systematize the win.

If you track the psychographics of who buys and who refunds, you can feed that data back to marketing.

Suddenly, you aren’t just getting “leads.” You are getting the exact profile of person who pays and stays.

Q: What is the biggest mistake you see reps making when they try to use ChatGPT for sales advice?

Tomy: They create a Frankenstein.

They take a transcript of their call, paste it into ChatGPT, and say “Give me advice.”

The AI is pulling from the entire internet.

It’s mixing Jordan Belfort with Jeremy Miner with random blog posts.

One day it tells you to be aggressive, the next day it tells you to be empathetic. It’s inconsistent.

The Fix: You have to train the AI. Give it parameters.

“Act as a high-ticket closer trained specifically in NEPQ / 7th Level methodology. Review this transcript based ONLY on those principles.”

Don’t Frankenstein your development. Pick a framework and force the AI to stick to it.

Even better if you can upload currated material into GPT.

Q: If someone is reading this and thinking “I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing,” what do you say to them?

Tomy: I’d ask them:

Do you want to end up on Universal Basic Income?

This isn’t the 1950s.

There is no rule that says you can keep doing the same job the same way forever and maintain your lifestyle.

If you are not constantly upskilling, you are actively falling behind.

The people winning right now are the ones asking:

“What is the biggest problem in my life, and how can I use AI to solve it?”

Whether that’s building a website in 15 minutes to improve your branding (which you can do now), or analyzing your sales calls automatically.

It is your duty to upgrade yourself. If you get blindsided, you only have yourself to blame.
